This article is written by the team that builds Casdoor, so we are not neutral, and we say where we think Casdoor fits and where it doesn't. Facts about other products come from their own websites as of November 1, 2026 (listed under Sources) and may have changed. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.
Auth0 publishes two price lists — B2C and B2B — and the difference between them is bigger than the numbers. B2B plans include enterprise connections; B2C plans, at the published tiers, do not. That single line decides whether a company can use a plan at all.
This article walks through the plans as published in November 2026 and what to check before trusting a quote.
The plans at a glance
| Plan | B2C | B2B | MAUs at the starting price | Enterprise connections |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 25,000 | 1 |
| Essentials | from $35 / month | from $150 / month | 500 | B2C: not included; B2B: 3 |
| Professional | from $240 / month | from $800 / month | 500 | B2C: not included; B2B: 5 |
| Enterprise | quote | quote | custom | custom |
Paid plans scale by MAU tier: the starting price covers the lowest tier, and the price rises as the user count crosses each threshold. Yearly billing is 11× the monthly price, which is the usual "two months free".
What this means in practice
The B2C/B2B split is about federation. A B2C product with consumer logins can run on B2C Essentials or Professional. A product that sells to businesses, where each customer brings an Okta or Entra ID connection, needs B2B — otherwise the enterprise connections are not in the plan at all.
The published price is a floor. At 500 MAU, B2C Professional is $240 per month; at higher MAU tiers the page itself stops giving a number and asks you to contact sales (B2C Professional shows "contact us" around the 30,000 MAU mark, and the plan is not offered at 40,000 and 50,000). B2B Essentials and Professional similarly move to a quote at higher tiers.
The free tier is generous on users, narrow on connections. 25,000 MAU with one enterprise connection is enough to launch a consumer app and run a single pilot customer. It is not enough for a B2B product with several enterprise customers.
How to estimate a real bill
- Pick the product line: B2C if all logins are consumers, B2B if customers bring their own IdP.
- Estimate MAU, not total users. Auth0 charges for monthly active users.
- Count enterprise connections if you are on B2B; that is what the plan tiers gate.
- Check features that live above the plan, such as custom domains, log retention and support levels.
- Ask for the price at 3× and 10× your current MAU, not just today's number. The MAU tiers are where budgets break.
Where the flat-price alternative fits
Casdoor's model is the opposite: self-hosted is free (Apache-2.0), and the managed cloud is a flat $9, $25 or $59 per month with unlimited MAU and no per-connection fees. There is no B2C/B2B split and no MAU tier table.
Whether that is cheaper depends on what you use. Auth0 brings a large integration catalogue and a mature managed service; Casdoor brings the same core protocols (OIDC, SAML, CAS, SCIM, LDAP) at a price that does not change with users or connections. For a B2B product with many small enterprise customers, the connection line alone often decides it.
