Casdoor vs FusionAuth
An open-source alternative to FusionAuth
FusionAuth is a downloadable, single-tenant auth server: its Community edition is free to use but not open source, and paid plans add features and hosting. Casdoor is open source under Apache-2.0, with a managed dedicated instance at a flat price.

Why teams choose Casdoor
Truly open source
Read, change and redistribute every line under Apache-2.0, including the features other vendors keep for paid plans.
Don't want to run it?
Casdoor Cloud gives you a dedicated instance and database from $24.17/month billed yearly, upgraded by the team that builds Casdoor.
One IdP for every app
Casdoor is an identity provider over OIDC, SAML, CAS, LDAP and RADIUS, so the same accounts sign in to your own apps, SaaS tools and devices.
Authorization included
Casbin RBAC, ABAC and ACL are built in, instead of being left to your code.
When FusionAuth may fit better
- You want a vendor-supported, downloadable product with paid support tiers and have the budget for them.
- You need a vendor with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 reports for the hosted service today. Casdoor Cloud does not have them yet; teams with that requirement usually self-host Casdoor in their own certified environment.
Moving from FusionAuth to Casdoor
Export users with FusionAuth's API and import them into Casdoor. Casdoor can verify bcrypt, Argon2id, PBKDF2 and salted SHA-256 / SHA-512 password hashes, so imported users can keep their passwords. Apps that use OpenID Connect or SAML only need a new issuer URL and client credentials.
